The Duffy 26LOA: 26' 3"  |  LWL: 24' 8"  |  Beam: 9' 6"

The Duffy 26 was designed in 1986. Since that time we have built over fifty 26's as commercial lobster boats, tow boats, charter boats and pleasure boats. The Duffy 26 is a built down, semi displacement style hull designed for excellent sea keeping. This is a true lobsterboat hull not a "stylized" V hull made to look like a lobsterboat. Maximum beam is 9'-6" and beam at the transom is 7'-3". For her size she is as stable a working platform as you could hope to find and she has the classic lines the larger Duffy's are famous for.

The Duffy 26's waterline was extended 2'9". Outboards replace the inboard engine, eliminating the bulky engine box and expanding the sheltered cockpit space. The deep forefoot of the downeast bow offers a soft entry through the water. The modified keel and lifting rails give the DUFFY-29H (Hybrid) a planning stern. Down forward, the cabin is fully enclosed. There is a molded-in V berth area and optional head compartment.

The Duffy 31LOA:30' 10.5" | LWL:29' 2.75" | Beam:11' 0.5"

The Duffy 31 was designed by Spencer Lincoln in 1983. Her hull lines closely follow those of her larger sister the Duffy 35. The Duffy 31 is a built down, semi displacement hull with a fine forefoot and flat after section. She has the tumblehome and sweet sheer shared by all the Duffy's. Her original design as a commercial lobster boat made sea-keeping the top priority in her design. Over the years we have built over fifty Duffy 31's and they can be found lobstering all over the east coast.

The Duffy 35LOA: 35'  |  LWL: 33' 4"  |  Beam: 11' 10"

Not only is The Duffy 35 the most popular boat in our line it is one of the most popular lobster boats of all time with over 370 hulls built since 1982. The Duffy 35 is a built down hull with a fine forefoot and flat after sections producing good speed and the excellent ride that Duffy’s are famous for. Over the years the Duffy 35 has proven itself to be a safe and stable boat in all but the most severe sea conditions.

The Duffy 37LOA: 37'  |  LWL: 34' 11"  |  Beam: 13' 2"

The Duffy 37 is the newest boat in our fleet. The first hull came out in October 1999. Like all of our boats, the 37 is a built down, full keel lobster boat designed by Spencer Lincoln. The 37 is a slightly larger version of the Duffy 35 with some changes to the under body to increase speed and fuel efficiency. Because it is still a built down hull, the 37 performs much like the proven 35, but allows for faster speeds, more open layouts, greater carrying capacity and better head room.

The Duffy 42 was designed in 1985 and has proven to be an exceptionally able offshore lobster boat. Over 100 42's to date testify to it's continued popularity amongst commercial fishermen, sportfisherman and charter boat captains on both coasts. While the majority of Duffy 42's are finished as commercial lobster boats we have built 42's as ambulance boats, pilot boats, tow boats, clam dredge boats, commercial tuna boats, fire boats, Coast Guard Certified passenger boats and marine patrol boats.

The Duffy 48LOA: 48' 3"  |  LWL: 44' 6"  |  Beam: 17' 4"

Designed in 1990 by Spencer Lincoln, The Duffy 48 is our largest hull. To date we have built 15 boats to this design including split wheel house lobster boats, draggers, and cruisers. We have built stretched versions at 52 feet and 56 feet. With a beam of 17'- 6" this is a big 48 footer. Her hull design, as with the rest of the Duffy line, is a built down semi-displacement lobster style and as such she has the great sea keeping that the Duffy line is famous for. She can be set up with single or twin power with cruising speeds up to 25 Knots.

Atlantic Boat Company
is a family owned business operating on a 37 acre, 50,000 square foot facility on Flye Point in Brooklin, Maine. In 1995 Duffy and Duffy Custom Yacht and Flye Point Corporation merged to become Atlantic Boat Company. The two companies have built over 1250 hulls since the 1970's. Today, Atlantic Boat Company, the builders of Duffy and BHM commercial boats and yachts, carries on a long-standing tradition of quality Downeast boatbuilding.

Boats built at Atlantic Boat Company are renowned for their long term performance, safety, and integrity.
These hulls have been developed over the past 150 years for the rigors of fishing off the Maine coast. With a large keel, flat aftersections, and a fine entry, our hulls are steady in any weather. The Downeast hull provides an exceptionally safe and comfortable ride.

We are committed to building exactly the boat you want, and we guarantee quality craftsmanship. Completed as a workboat or a finely finished custom yacht, our boats hold together like no production boat can. We invite you to visit our facility an encourage your involvement with the production of your boat.

Workboats - Sportfishing Boats - Cruisers

Atlantic Boat Company - Brooklin ME

Our boats are available in three "levels of finish"; workboat, sportfishing boat, and cruiser. Aspects from these different levels can be combined to meet customer's desires. These levels give us a starting place to discuss the kind of boat you are looking for.

Workboat: Besides the obvious differences in configuration and equipment, a workboat differs from a sportfishing boat or cruiser in the amount of trim work, sound insulation, and level of detail put into the finish.

Sportfishing Boat: Although many of the sportfishing boats we build have yacht interiors, we define the sportfish finish as half way between the work boat and yacht. Smoother interior glasswork, a basic sound insulating package, more cabinetry and trim in oiled teak, and aluminum framed windows are some of the details included in this type of finish.

Yacht Finish: While many of the yachts we build have a very basic interior, they all tend to get the best in sound insulation, very smooth interior glasswork, and more elaborate woodwork. Here the sky is the limit on how much detail you want to put into the boat.

Kit Boats

Each year we build over 30 kit boats from 26 to 48 feet. We define a kit boat as any boat that is not capable of leaving Atlantic Boat under its own power. The simplest kits are just the molded parts, the hull and top. Most kits have the engine set, shaft installed, bulkheads and so forth. Some kits have all the glasswork done and the major mechanical components installed less wiring, plumbing and interior. If you are a handyman, this is a very economical way to build a boat. The ultimate kit we call a "bare running boat". This is a complete running boat less the interior; you get to do the fun part!
